Tansley Food and Drink (and Dance!) Festival - May 2023

We are delighted to announce that dancers from the Claire Dobinson School of Dancing will be performing in a short dance display at the Tansley Food and Drink Festival on Saturday 13 May.

With artisan food, drink and craft stalls, street food, bars and coffee stands, live music and many activities for children, Tansley Food and Drink Festival is a lovely family day out. Our dancers will be appearing around 3:30pm on Saturday 13 May.

If you would like to come and support us - and enjoy some drinks, food and fun in the Peak District - festival tickets are available from Ticketsource for £5 in advance, or £8 on the gate, with free entry for children under 5.

Brilliant Exam Results - April 2023

Huge congratulations to all our dancers who took part in recent NATD examination sessions. We are delighted to be celebrating another brilliant set of results, with 19 merits and 44 Distinctions! Particular congratulations go to Poppy Lynn for passing her Intermediate Contemporary Examination with a fantastic 94%.

Well done everyone! Claire is extremely proud of you all.

NATD Dance Days - March / April 2023

The North Midland Theatrical Area of the NATD are hosting two fantastic Dance Days this Spring. These are jam-packed fun days of dancing, where pupils experience lots of different styles of dancing.

Senior Dance Day - 5 March 2023, 9:45 - 3pm

For students in year 7 upwards (ages 11+)

Warm up / Body Conditioning / Lyrical / Musical Theatre / Street / Gymnastic Dance

We are particularly excited about the Musical Theatre session, which will be led by our very own star ex-pupil Daisy Edwards fresh from dancing as 'Belle' in the stage production of Beauty and the Beast!

Junior Dance Day - 30 April 2023, 9:45 - 3pm

For dancers in reception up to year 6 (ages 5 - 11)

Musical Theatre / Tap / Freestyle / Latin American / Gymnastic Dance

Our Junior Dance Days are always a hit with our younger students, allowing them to experience lots of different styles they have never tried before.

Both dance days will be held at Aston on Trent Memorial Hall, Chellaston Lane, Aston on Trent, Derby DE72 2AX. Dancers will need dropping off and collecting, and they will need a packed lunch. Claire is North Midland Theatrical Area Chair and will be present at both events.
